Bill and Ben are two saddle tank twin engines. Completely identical, they work at the China Clay pits near Brendam Bay on Edward’s Branch Line, pulling their loads for the Main Line engines and ships in the harbours. They are a mischievous pair, who love playing jokes and teasing the other engines - especially Gordon. The twins are also frequently used in other Quarries across the Island, often found working with Mavis at the new Centre Island Quarry, and have been used to shunt in the Harbour yards when needed.
Bill and Ben are cheeky and naughty and rather troublesome. According to Duck, Edward is the only engine who can keep them in order. Thomas and BoCo have the same effect over them too. They can be sarcastic to each to other sometimes.
